Earlier everything was sorted. The big smartphone manufacturers usually arrive with their flagship smartphones every year with some mind-blowing specifications. All these flagship smartphones are priced higher, obviously. But now, time has changed. Last year, with OnePlus One arrival, definition of flagship smartphones has changed. It was the first smartphone manufacturer who installed all high end specifications in a mid-range priced smartphone. This year too, the company launched an upgraded version, OnePlus 2 across the globe including India. Recently, Yu Yutopia was launched with some powerful specs at Rs 24999. With its launch, it becomes the direct competitor to OnePlus 2. With two options available, confusion is bound to happen. So, we have compared both the devices to help you to get a better understanding. Let’s compare them.
If we talk about Yu Yutopia’s display first, it hosts a 5.2-inch QHD Display with a resolution of 2K. You will get a 565 PPI pixel density on this phone, which is capable of displaying marvelous color reproduction and clarity. On the other hand, we have OnePlus 2, which comes with a 5.5-inch display size with a resolution of 1920×1080. OnePlus’s device gives you better result under direct sunlight. Both displays are durable and shatterproof.
Look and Feel
Both devices are crafted with aluminum and magnesium alloy. Yu Yutopia is light in weight as compared to OnePlus 2 and is slimmer as well. Both devices added a fingerprint scanning feature. You will a fingerprint scanning ring on the back of the Yutopia. OnePlus has incorporated a physical button on the front which acts as a fingerprint scanner. Yutopia cannot be customized whereas you get several back shells for OnePlus 2.
Coming to the Hardware and Performance department, both these handsets are powered by the Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset, Snapdragon 810. Clock speed is bit less in OnePlus 2. OnePlus 2 is powered by an OctaCore processor at a clock speed of 1.8GHz while Yutopia clocks at 2.0 GHz. Both devices have heating issues. Yutopia gets heat up faster than OnePlus 2.
Both devices faired exceptionally well when it comes to playing high end games and multi-tasking. 4GB of RAM is installed in both the flagship killers. OnePlus 2 comes with a 64GB internal storage and without expansion option. On the flip side, Yutopia has 32GB onboard space, which can be further expanded upto 128GB via MicroSD card. Buying a handset with more Internal storage space is always advisable.
On the software front, OnePlus 2 comes with Oxygen OS based on Android Lollipop OS. You will get a Cyanogen OS on the Yutopia. This is also based on Android Lollipop OS. Customization is available for both the devices. Cyanogen OS comes with better customization features.
The Yutopia is equipped with a 21-meapixels rear camera with a Dual LED flash. The OnePlus 2 is fitted with a 13-megapixel camera module at the back of the device. Both the devices have the capability to shoot shake-free photos, Thanks to the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology. With the capability of recording up to 4K resolution video contents, both the devices can give you best shots when in bright natural light. Yutopia camera functionality is slow as compared to the OnePlus 2. Now it is time discuss about the front camera. You will get a 5-megapixel front snapper on Oneplus 2 while the Yutopia has an 8-megapixel front shooter. Yu Yutopia showed better selfie results.
One of the main points that we consider the most while purchasing any new smartphone is its battery backup. The OnePlus 2 comes with a larger 3300mAh battery and Yutopia has a smaller 3000mAh battery. With a combination of Snapdragon 810 and 2K Display, 3000 mAh battery is less. Yu Yutopia supports the Quick Charge 2.0, which is capable of charging your device up to 45% within 30 minutes. OnePlus 2 takes more time to reach this level.
