Samsung announce Ativ Q laptop and Ative Tab 3 at an event in UK, the Ativ Q is a 13.3-inch notebook that converts into a tablet. The main highlight is the laptop’s display, which sports a QHD+ panel with a resolution of 3,200×1,800 pixels. It is also able to run both Android 4.1 and Windows 8, and will let users transfer files between the two OSes.
It features a 128GB SSD, but given that its using Windows 8, you’re likely only left around 80GB or so, after factoring Android’s space requirements as well. Other specs include an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM and a claimed battery life of 9 hours.
As for the Ativ Tab 3, it’s a tablet that shares design elements with Samsung’s Galaxy range, and features Windows 8 instead of the Android operating system normally found in Galaxy devices. Powered by a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2760 processor, the tablet sports a 10.1-inch display with a 1,366×768 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
Both tablets will feature SideSync, which lets a user switch between a Samsung Android phone and the Ativ Tab 3 conveniently. You will be able to use the PC keyboard to reply to text messages on your Android phone, as well as back up data onto the Ativ PC.
