Sony and Samsung are two top most mobile manufacturing companies that have earned a lot of success with some of their amazing Smartphones. Capturing the market with high end Smartphones, these brands did not have much option for the mid-segment market. But in the past few months, they have launched a number of phones ranging between Rs10, 000 to 20,000 eliminating all complains. Two of the best phones delivered by these top most companies are Sony Xperia M and Samsung Galaxy Core. Falling under a similar price range, these phones have gained popularity in a short span. But which one out of these is better? As in which one possesses better features and better performance? Lets us study both of these gadgets to come to a conclusion.
Design and Display!
Samsung Galaxy Core comes with dimensions of 129.3 x 67.56 x 8.95 mm and weighs 124 grams. The thickness and weight of the phone makes it quite handy. It has a 4.3 inch TFT LCD touch screen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution giving it a decent display.
On the other hand, the Sony Xperia M is 9.3 mm thick, 124mm high and has a width of 62mm weighing 115 grams. With some difference in its measurements, it is evident that Xperia M is a chunky phone. It has a 4 inch touchscreen with 480 x 854 pixel resolution and 16 M colors.
Concisely, the Xperia M possesses a screen which is small in size but has a better and vivid resolution than Galaxy core. Moreover, as compared to Galaxy core, Xperia M comes with a thicker dimension but it is lighter than Galaxy making the phone more usable and comfortable.
Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, Sony Xperia M gets its power from Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor which has clock speed of 1 GHz. It is bundled by Aderno 305 graphics processing unit and 1 GB RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy Core is powered by 1.2 GHz Dual Core which is slightly more than Xperia M. the operating system of this phone is same as the above mentioned device i.e. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and it also has 1 GB RAM.
So in the category of performance, these phones do not show much difference.
On the camera front, both Sony Xperia M and Samsung Galaxy Core are blessed with a 5 megapixel camera. But they differ with in the number of features they possess.
Sony Xperia M comes with a 4X digital zoom and features like Dual LED flash, Face detection, Auto focus, Geotagging, Red-eye reduction, Sweep Panorama and Touch focus.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy core does not offer these many features to its users. Moreover, Xperia M has a capability to record videos with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which when compared to the video resolution of Galaxy core i.e. 800 x 480 pixels is quite huge and better.
Samsung Galaxy Core takes a score higher than Xperia M in this category. Galaxy core has an in built storage of 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB whereas Xperia M has 4 GB memory that is also expandable up to 32 GB. But the 4GB in Xperia M, out of which the user would probably get 2 GB which is quite less when compared to the grand 8GB to Galaxy Core. So the absence of this internal storage makes Xperis M lose a major point.
Both the phones possess almost identical features and win or lose points on different categories. Sony Xperia M is a lighter phone but Galaxy Core is thinner. Similarly, Galaxy Core has a bigger display but Xperia M has better resolution. So snatching away crown from each other, they both remain uncrowned. The major point that differentiates these phones is the memory. So if you can mange in a 4 GB internal memory space, then Sony Xperia M is a great option. Else Samsung Galaxy core is no disappointment.
