Microsoft will be officially reveals its new Windows 8 OS. But before the launch, Microsoft has rolled out the new logo of the Windows 8 operating system.

The new logo now carries a Window instead of flag which had been used since decades. The new logo is designed by US agency Pentagram who was confused why the Window’s logo carries a flag being named “Windows”. So they finally decided to come up with a logo having window-looking design. The new design will replace the logos that have been used since Windows 3.1.
Sam Moreau, Principal Director of User Experience for Windows at Microsoft said, “The Windows logo is a strong and widely recognized mark, but when we stepped back and analysed it, we realised an evolution of our logo would better reflect our Metro style design principles and we also felt there was an opportunity to reconnect with some of the powerful characteristics of previous incarnations,”
