Aakash tablet available at just Rs1138

Its best gift for Mumbai college students in this Christmas . Aakash tablet now available at Rs 1,138 comes as a perfect Christmas gift to them.
Students from Mumbai University and 100 other varsities will be able to avail this offer.

The step for selling the low-cost tab almost at half price was taken by officials of the board of college and university development.Reportedly, students will also be able to access all the online content for undergraduate and postgraduate courses developed under the Human Resources Development Ministry (HRDM) free of cost.

In order to buy the tab, students need to place an order with their college or department.
Earlier Datawind, the makers of Aakash, had put up near about 30,000 tablets online with a price tag of Rs 2,500, with a delivery period of seven days.
The seven-inch touch screen tablet flaunts of features of Aakash such as 256 megabytes of RAM, ARM 11 processor with the Android 2.2 operating system, two USB ports and HD-quality video.
According to sources, Aakash’s next commercial version called the Ubislate 7, which has a faster processor, is slated to be launched late January.

Along this some Indian developers and companies have developed their own innovative and low-priced tablets with Google Android OS. Since Android is available free for all, technology makers could roll out products with the operating system.here is the list of some best and economical tablet’s.


Reliance 3G Tab

It is a 3G tablet from Reliance Communications, a cellular service provider in India. Reliance has produced 3G Tab to be used with its 3G network connectivity. The low-priced Android tablet was manufactured by the Chinese technology developer ZTE for Reliance, which sells the product for INR 12,000, roughly $287. It is also a 7-inch tablet with a capacitive touchscreen that has a resolution of 800 X 480 pixels. Reliance 3G Tab is equipped with 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and a microSD slot that can support 32GB memory stick. It sports a 2-megapixel camera in the real panel and a VGA camera in the front for video calls.

Aakash

Aakash -‘sky’ in Hindi – is an educational tablet from the government of India. In fact, Aakash was developed by a team of students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Prem Kumar Kalra, director of the IIT worked along with the students to develop prototype of Aakash. Later, the government of India borrowed the technology to develop a cheap tablet for educational purposes for rural areas of the country. Indian government made a deal with a London based technology maker DataWind to mass-produce the tablet. As a result, Aakash is now available for a price of just $35 for students in India and $60 for common users across the world.

Ave

Ave is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablet developed by two teenage students from Hyderabad. The full-fledged tablet PC was created by an engineering student Sareddy Chiman Prakash and another youth Nikhil. Ave is a 7-inch tablet and it is powered by a 1.2GHz processor and 8GB built-in memory. The device is expected to be mass-produced by U.K.-based technology company, Sareddy Technologies, which is owned by the family of Mr. Sareddy Chiman, one of designers of the tablet. The innovative tablet was officially unveiled by Ponnala Lakshmaiah, IT and Communications Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Maybe, the device will raise stiff challenge to leading tablets like iPad and Galaxy Tab in Indian market.

Beetel Magiq

Beetel Magiq is yet another brilliant 7-inch tablet from India. The INR 9,999 Android 2.2 Froyo tablet PC is up with a 1GHz processor, 8GB internal memory and 16GB expandable microSD slot. Beetel Magic has a 7-inch WVGA screen and dual cameras for video chatting and general use. The tablet from Beetel, a producer of telecommunication devices, is wonderful with its cheap price, high performing processor, large internal storage when compared with other cheap tablets from India.

Magnum Pepper

Magnum Pepper is a 7-inch Android 2.2 tablet from a Delhi based company. The table PC, priced just at $99 (INR 4,500) has an 800 MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and 2GB internal memory under the hood. Its 7-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. It is a sensitive touch screen and the device supports Wi-Fi, LAN port, USB 2.0, microSD slot for 32GB external memory stock and many others. Magnum Pepper also features 3G compatible dongle, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, front camera for video calls and supports audio formats like MP3,AAC,WMA,AAC+, video formats like 3GP, AVI, MP4, H.264,720P and others.
